Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook Review And Specs

New Ultrabook Acer Aspire S3
Acer Aspire S3 has very thin dimensions. In addition, this device has a medium-size due to the use of screen measuring 13.3 ". Although it seemed thin, as we hold the Ultrabook this feels very solid. This may be due to the use of unibody (battery is not removable and is fused with the casing) and the aluminum material on the cover of the LCD screen. Acer Aspire S3 itself is wrapped with silver all over his body, both on the inside and outside with black accents on the hinges. The first impression when we picked it also feels quite light and pleasant to be grasped by hand because it only has a thickness of 13mm. in our opinion Ultrabook class is very nice to be invited to travel.

Acer Aspire S3 uses a screen size of 13.3 "with a maximum resolution of 1366 × 768. Talking about the display, the Acer Aspire S3 uses a glossy screen. It will be a little annoying when used outdoors or a room with a beam that is too bright. However, you can minimize this by raising the level of brightness. Viewing angle is also quite good because the screen does not change color gradation that are too excessive when viewed from the left and right. The screen will change color gradation when you see it from above.

Cooling system on the Acer S3 was interesting. Ultrabook cooling system is not like a notebook that has a hole in and out in addition to casing. At Acer S3 air inlet is placed below the keyboard and for the disposal is on the back. This is because space is limited and to get rid of heat to the back side, not in the direction of your hand (right or left side). This cooling system was very efficient. Apparently, all the products Ultrabook will be using the design of cooling systems like this

Acer Aspire TimelineX AS1830T 68U118

Acer Aspire TimelineX AS1830T-68U118

You can drop thousands of dollars on a expensiveness ultraportable, but reviewers say the Acer Aspire TimelineX AS1830T-68U118 provides superior show for a lightweight laptop -- without breaking the slope. The 3.1-pound notebook looks equal a netbook with its young 11.6-inch exhibit, but it packs whatever potent components, including an Intel Set i7-680UM processor, 500 GB erect swing, 4 GB of RAM and a 6-cell Li-ion assault.
Reviewers interrogatory real fixed action for most tasks with the exclusion of gaming; the laptops nonsegregated Intel graphics fair cant prepare stride with late 3D games. Yet, full-screen videos act without stutters, and moving illuminating use, but that gross testament change to around quaternion hours if youre watching movies or streaming videos. Whatever reviewers do quetch that the touchpad is too weensy, and the cramped palm repose makes typing bad. Equivalent more ultraportable laptops, the Acer Plan TimelineX AS1830T-68U118 also lacks an optical cover. If you dont status an ultraportable laptop, the HP Enviousness 14 (*Est. $1,000 and up) gets the foremost reviews overall.

Acer Aspire V5 431 887B2G50Ma V stands for Value

Laptop manufacturers are facing something of a crisis. There was a time my wife and I would buy a new laptop every year. Now, I am happy with a nearly two year old laptop and do not see myself replacing it for another two years. A new smartphone interest me more than a new laptop. My wifes laptop is in its fifth year, but she splits computing time between a laptop, tablet and smartphone, and I think the nearly two year old tablet may get replaced before the five year old laptop. Yes, she still needs her laptops, but these days it has been relegated to being a word processor.

Intels response to this is the Ultrabook. Microsofts response, Windows 8 which is designed to create a new generation of hybrid devices. Laptop OEM manufacturers, well they want to entice you to part with your money by giving you more value for your money. A good example of this is the entry level Acer V5.

The Acer V5 is a 14-inch laptop with an eye popping sticker price of Php17,900. For the bargain price you get a pretty capable laptop. The entry level Acer V5 is powered by an Intel 877 dual core processor has as much power as a top of the line processor just four years ago. And that is still pretty fast even by todays standards. If your laptop is used for typing documents, preparing spreadsheets and presentations, watching HD video on YouTube, this is more than enough. The budget price also yield you a large 500 GB hard drive, a DVD writer, USB 3.0 port and HDMI out.

But what makes the Acer V5 really interesting is the case. This budget laptop is just 0.9 inches thick. This makes is a hair thinner than the smaller Sony Vaio S and 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro. At 4.6 pounds in weight, it weighs just as much as the smaller MacBook Pro.

The main part of the weight reduction is the small 2500 mAh battery. But paired with the power efficient Intel 877 dual core processor, the combo is good for more than 4.5 hours of real world use. The weakest point of the package is the keyboard, which is not the best I have tried, but it does work. All  in all not bad for your Php17,900.

This price comes with Linux installed, rather than Windows. So for many buyers, this laptop will cost you another 1.5-2K. On the other hand, if like me, Linux is your operating system of choice, it is nice to be able to buy a laptop without having to pay the "Windows Tax".

Acer Aspire One D255

Double Strength
Atomic now has two cores. Offers significant performance improvements, but still with some notes.

The heady days of netbooks will soon be over? Too early to conclude. However, these signs are already there. NPD Research conducted on the development of netbooks in the U.S. shows, the growth rate netbooks this year minus 4%, aka decline from last years sales figures. There are many reasons assigned, ranging from the emergence of the iPad to increasingly sophisticated smartphones. But some are calling one netbook fundamental problem: its performance is not satisfactory. More and more people taking netbooks, more and more people are aware netbooks only suitable for standard applications.

For Intel, the Atoms performance such as fruit simalakama. If "too" good, feared netbook notebook market will take a larger benefit. However, if too slow, netbooks should get crushed another product. As a result, Intel also must be careful in the target segment between these two interests. Atomic Performance must still satisfy some consumers, but still not the same class with notebook "real".
